I have been a silent creeper over on Indigo Bunting for a while, but when I saw these, I had to come out of the shadows and comment.

How incredible are these invitations! I love everything about them, from the font, to the colours - and did I mention the amazing construction of them? Mini envelopes?!? It's like mini burgers, but better.

I have a confession - there is a huge part of me that wishes I could wear cowboy boots and pigtails every day.

I saw this on Elizabeth Millay this morning - there are so many incredibly gorgeous and chic little details that just take your breath away. From the decor, to the little touches that the bride added to her outfit, to the colour scheme. It feels so much more sophisticated than a wedding in a barn probably should ;)

This morning, I saw emersonmade's EAT napkins featured on You Are my Fave and I just loved the colour combos. Natural burlap browns with the soft pink, blue and white flowers (also by emersonmade!) felt kind of dreamy and a little bit elegant. I pictured lots of soft pillars candles with some accoustic guitar in the background.

I also pictured fondue on this table. But I think it's just lunch time ;)

I love dessert. I feel like everyone does, but I really do. I like it for more reasons than the obvious - taste, smell, overall goodness in your belly. I like it for it's creativity, for it's visual presentation, for the ability to make it FUN.

So I love it when I stumble upon different twists on the traditional cake, cupcake or candy bar that you see at most weddings. I've been collecting these images for a while now and I think that they are awesome examples of the fun that you can have with dessert at a wedding.

POP goes yellow!

I spotted this on Amorology's blog - a gorgeous wedding that San Diego based event design firm created.

I love this colour combo. I always think that black and white are stunning, but the POP of yellow just adds that little bit of glamour to it. I also love all the furniture that they brought in - including the chandelier! I've been looking for one like this for my apartment and it looks just perfect next to the damask. This wedding is the perfect mix of taking elements that are somewhat traditional, like damask and even the black and white colour scheme, and making them beautifully modern and sexy.

LOVE the candy bar. As always.

The bride is apparently Toblerone obsessed, so this little detail was an ode to her. I think the question is, who ISN'T Toblerone obsessed?

I love the flower combinations - it's another way that Amorology used traditional flowers, like orchids, with more modern flowers (hydrangeas, I think!) to bring a sense of playfulness into the whole day.

I also love the labels at the candy bar. So sexy!

Soft, dreamy details - Caroline Tran wedding

As usual, I'm a quiet creeper when it comes to blogs. But I love Caroline Tran's photography. It always feels very dreamy and elegant. And it was a little treat when she posted this wedding today (I also love her commentary and the way she talks about weddings - you can tell she's excited!)

When she posted this wedding, she talked about how she loved all the little details - which, coincidentally, are what I love about a wedding too! For this particular wedding, the bride and her mother did everything. Looking at the pictures below, it's amazing how much love and care they put into everything. From the ribbons around the candle jars to offering milk with cupcakes to the bride hand writing all her favours.

Wish wall via Hello Lucky

The very adorable ladies over at Hello!Lucky posted this idea back in July. I love their spin on what they saw in a store window and how they took it and "wedding-ized" it. So fabulous. Their idea was to take the honey comb cardboard structure and use it as a guest book replacement! Guests could write their messages on colourful pieces of paper, slip into the little cardboard holes and HELLO gorgeous idea!

I also like that this is something you could take back to your home and keep as a piece of art - it just LOOKS cool!

I'm wondering if this is an idea that you could DIY...hmmm

I think my stomach is telling me something - I have cupcakes on the brain this morning!

I'm obsessed with cupcakes in general - I love how delicate and sweet and feminine they look, how you can customize them with so many yummy flavours (I saw a Sweet Potato Cupcake with Orange Cream Cheese Frosting topped with Pecan Praline at Yummy Stuff yesterday - how good does that sound!) and how you can decorate them to the max!

Enter Cupcake Social! This etsy shop sells everything you need to "make cupcakes too cute to eat". And they deliver to Canada, which is always fabulous in my books.

I saw this adorable picture on Sweet Paul this morning. He actually posted it a few weeks ago, but clearly, I'm a little bit behind.

Such an adorable idea! He mentions that he baked them for his niece's birthday, but I think it would be such a special touch to a bridal shower (or maybe just a Sunday afternoon...hmmm...maybe I need to get myself off the couch and to the grocery store!)

Another Canadian vendor! (I am on a roll today!)

I stumbled across The Stationery Position on Oh Joy! this morning and couldn't help but follow the link posted there to the website.

Started by an East Coaster (love it!), the website offers a great collection of chic and sleek invites that have a Canadian feel to them, without being Canadiana - (Like, say, their Into the Wild Invite Collection - Does anyone else think Red Deer, Alberta?)

But what feel caught my eye - being that I'm a marketer! - was their Tweet collection. I love how fun and youthful this feels and the minute I saw this, my mind wandered to the fantastic fun that the bride and groom could have with their guests on Twitter! (I'll post those ideas in another post - let's just say I love the idea of hinting "clues" for the day to build anticipation!)

Even their colour scheme descriptions sound yummy - the top invite is in Light Pink, Hot Pink and Chocolate and the bottom two invites are Lemon Frosting, Turquoise and Blueberry. Like the invites themselves, scrumptuous!

I'm not a huge fan of the traditional veil. I'm 5'1'' - on me, a veil would overwhelm me and make me look like a child bride, which I just have no interest in. So I'm always on the look out for alternatives.

And then I discovered EeekDesigns on Etsy - not only is she from the Toronto area (woot woot! Love the locals!), but she designs gorgeous hair pieces for your special day - even if your special day isn't a wedding and it may just be a fabulous night out.

My favourite was in the picture below. I love the photography too - I'm whisked away to a romantic Paris scene with this picture. I want to say "swoon", but I feel I may be using that word too much here. So I'll keep my mouth shut and let the picture speak for itself!

A Holly Golightly Inspired Wedding - Utterly Engaged

Swoon. That is the only word I can use to describe what I spent the morning doing. Utterly Engaged just published it's 4th issue - it's an e-zine for budget conscious savy brides with style that is the collaboration between Eva Chiou of Red Velvet Occasions and Lucia Dinh and Henny Setiadi of D*LSH Design. Not only do they feature gorgeous ideas, but their ideas of modern, fun and fresh and a lot of them have DIY instructions so you can make their ideas your own.

This is a shoot that was done as a collaboration between Bonnie Tsang , Fleuretica, Kellie Lee Gin of Picture Perfect Events, and Eva Chiou of Red Velvet Occasions. for their 4th issue. It was inspired by the fabulous Audrey Hepburn and Breakfast at Tiffanys. Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but it is my secret dream to be able to spend every day dressed in a long black sheath with fabulous pearls and uber big sunglasses. Holly Golightly is the epitome of feminine to me - strong, sexy, elegant, sleek and (most importantly) complicated.

So naturally, there are too many things that I love about an idea inspired by one of my girl crushes, but I thought I'd try. So, I made a top 5 list with pictures to accompany.

Number 5: The vibrant splashes created by the dark pink flowers

Number 4: The alter and chair details - swwwooonnnnn

Number 3: The DIY coffee cups - what an incredible detail. They have instructions included in the e-zine! FAB!

Number 2: The flower arrangements that actually include feathers AND pearls!

Number 1: The dessert buffet - it looks so delicate and so delicious. The perfect indulgence for Holly Golightly.

Such an incredible resource - I can't wait for UE's next issue!!

Favors. One of my favourite opportunities to put your own little ooh la la on your special day!

And one of my favourite places to find ooh la la in Toronto is the newly opened patisserie, Nadege. It was a fantastic Saturday walk with a girlfriend where I first discovered it and I have been back numerous times since. Not only do they have tasty French baked goods, but they have incredible marshmellows with flavours like Gin and Tonic, Basil, Coffee and the basic to basics Citrus or Berry.

I visited their website and proceeded to drool further after reading this....

Welcome to Nadege, a playground for the senses.Where the art of French pastry meets modern panache. We love getting ooh la la with the most decadent, irresistible pleasures to warm your heart and make you weak in the knees.

Sunday Morning Treat - MaeMae Paperie

What an awesome treat stumbling across MaeMae Paperie's blog was this cold Sunday morning in Toronto!

I don't even remember what site I was that linked me here, but what a find! Not only are her designs fantastic (one of which is the subject of this post today!) but I love that she posts links to other paper designers that she admires and other images that she finds cool. I love it when designers include where they found inspiration outside of their own medium - especially when some of those places include one of my favourite places for inspiration.

While MaeMae is only in it's second year, it's designer - Megan Knight Gonzalez - is putting incredible designs out there already! Located in LA (maybe another reason for her fabulousness!), her website and blog show case her custom work and her journey as she moves to creating her own catalogues and ready made pieces as well!
(She's also the designer behind the amazing invitations featured in the photoshoot collaboration of JessicaClaire and GreyLikesWeddings. Check out the link here to see the invitations she designed!)

But it was these invitations that she designed for her childhood friends that I love so much. The couple wanted their design to reflect the significance of marriage and the meaning of commitment, so throughout their invitations, MaeMae used marriage oriented graphics. The couple also had a rockin' colour scheme.

The whole set - totally stunning with the combo or burnt yellow, pink, and warm chocolate brown.

I'm loving that the invitations feel modern, trendy and also incredibly personal!

Woven throughout the invitations were little tributes to the bride and grooms personal prfoessions (she's a ballerina and he's a tuba player - LOVE it!)

Gorgeoussity. What a LOVELY way to start a Sunday.

Honey and Ivory - Sweet Beginnings

I've been obsessed with blog reading now for almost a year. Being in my mid-20s, I find it almost unbelievable that I hadn't hopped on the blog train a few years back, but I love being on it now. I spent the first few months "creeping" on food and fitness blogs, since I'm incredibly passionate about both of those. I always meant to start my own, but I never really knew how to make what I was putting out there unique.

There is so much talent in the blog world, it's hard to really figure out how to make someone want to include YOU on their blog roll!

But then I stumbled upon a whole other world - the world of wedding blogs. And I fell head over heels in love. I've also loved things that are pretty and girly and have ALWAYS loved a good party. But what I love about weddings is the ability to make everything your own - right down to the very last detail. In fact, it's the details I want to concentrate on in this blog. There are always going to be beautiful blogs, like Style Me Pretty or Once Wed that feature incredible and gorgeous weddings. But what I want to do here is share the little, special things that can really make your special day that much sweeter.

Falling in love has never been so easy as it was for me and the world of weddings.
